I am a bit wistful reading my last blog post about all the practicing I was doing in September! I did so much work on the Ginastera, but I haven't really practiced much since that last post - ah well, at least all that work I did will come back faster the next time I return to the piece.
I'm now 34 weeks pregnant with my 2nd babe, sure to come sometime in the next 2 months (but probably sooner)... we're in the home stretch here! In the fall, right around the time I posted that last practice blurb, I decided I wanted to "put myself out there" and get as much done as possible in the "golden" 2nd trimester - especially given that I was feeling a bit disconnected from my music and record label having been spending so much time with my son (now two years old).
To that end, I decided to publish a print version of Red Leaf, Grey Sky and do a radio promo campaign for that album (read reviews and charting info on other parts of this website!), publish sheet music for "River Dawn" and "Shenandoah" (and have "Lullaby for Swingtime" in the works), finishing building a recording set-up/studio in my home, completely overhaul my website (hope you like the new design!), did a house concert locally, wrote and delivered a lay sermon on the art of "Practice" for my church, did a bunch of recording towards a new meditation album (hopefully for later in 2012?)...
AND, I have almost finished coordinating the re-master and re-packaging of the River Dawn: Piano Meditations 10th Anniversary Edition! I can't believe that 10 years and several re-prints later that I only have 30 of the original River Dawn CD left in my basement. It really continues to amaze me the wonderful feedback I receive from listeners about this work.
Now I'm on a organizing/nesting rampage before babe comes- putting together a new room for my son (which we will move him into gradually)- that room used to be my home office, so all my concert recordings, concert supplies, office supplies, etc are being moved to the basement and are awaiting organization. Trying to stock up on some freezer meals and fit in time for yoga and meditation.
Well, I'm ready for a break! Will be nice to cuddle with a newborn again...
